Welcome.

You’ve stumbled upon a public diary of sorts. It’s mine. I’m Fisher. This is a place where I want to publish updates on my projects, express ideas and thoughts I’m working through, and share neat things I find around the web. There’s no real theme, no schedule, no pretense that any of it is proof read. Feel free to connect if anything resonates.

Want occasional updates? Not for every post, mind you; that’s what RSS is for. But I might shoot an email once in a blue moon when I feel like sharing something I’ve deemed worthy of your attention. Follow →

Ian Lesperance, Disc Jockey

Ian and I had a brief overlap at Datadog; we weren’t even on the same team. It wasn’t until after his last day that I discovered we were both house heads.

I found out from his departure message, which included his email address.

Which included his personal website.

Which linked to a great collection of DJ sets.

That he mixed.

The sets are an eclectic collection of soulful, jazzy, downtempo, organic deep house. Thoughtfully mixed and paced with subtle, flowing transitions that let each track breathe.

I love stumbling across new music that jives with my tastes. And it’s all thanks to Ian hosting these DJ sets on his personal website. The custom music player paired with a small ambient visualizer brings me back to my Winamp days.

It’s exactly the sort of serendipitous discovery that I love about personal websites. They build that sense of connection while exposing you to things you never would have found otherwise.

How apropos.

Thank you for sharing, Ian.
